add xhost -si:localuser:root
Even though Running_GUI_applications_as_root is mentioned in the warning at the bottom ofTimeshift#Timeshift_GUI_not_launching_on_Wayland, maybe we should also add this line here:
"To remove this access after the application has been closed:
$ xhost -si:localuser:root
"

improve configuration
The configuration steps did not work for me when trying to add timeshift functionality after an installation that was not performed into /@ as root partition. I'd like to expand the section with my solution, but if somebody could review my solution for errors/improvements that would be great.

- I think it would be beneficial to have separate sections for creating the correct layout during installation and for converting an existing install to it, I agree that the way it is right now is confusing and incomplete. Rlct0 (talk) 21:05, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
