I have some doubts on creating a separate page on this. There are several ways of setting battery threshold; the simplest is using echo, as described in Tp_smapi. The knowledge of that article should quickly allow to see what this script does. -- Alad (talk) 21:00, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Good point. I agree. I will just add a little blurb to Tp_smapi. Thanks! -- Yesimnathan (talk) 14:24, 23 February 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
However, as in Tp_smapi, "If you are installing on a recent Thinkpad that has an Ivy Bridge processor or later (any of the *30, *40 or *50 models), tp_smapi will not work. Use tpacpi-bat or tpacpi-bat-git." In this case Tp-battery-mode is a nice and handy module. DreamingInCode (talk) 06:28, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Problems when using dock

I'm using my T420 in a dock. If I keep it in the dock after shutting it down the Thinkpad will load up to 100%. When I start the Laptop it will not drop to the set threshold, so it stays at 100% and gets it's power from the power supply. This makes tp-battery-mode kinda useless to me. Is this a known problem? So is there a fix or workaround I'm not aware of? Hack1337 17:19, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Discussion pages are usually meant for discussing (potential) article changes, rather than for technical support. You might have more luck getting an answer to your question in support fora like the forum or support IRC channel. -- Flyingpig (talk) 03:23, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
