Compilation errors with ISIM

Hi everyone,

I recently installed Xilinx ISE on my machine following this page. I got ISE running without troubles but simulations would not run due to their dependence on the gets() function. After lots of troubleshooting, I only managed to work around this by installing gcc-12 and replacing the /usr/bin/gcc symlink with one pointing to gcc-12 whenever using ISE.

There might be a simpler workaround but so far this is the only thing I could come up with. I suggest adding a section to the page that covers this problem. Farisavdic (talk) 19:06, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
