Talk:Arch terminology

From ArchWiki

Document "Wiki time"

The spacetime anomaly regarding unexpectedly long delay for implementing seemingly minor changes should be documented here ;) Edit: Could also be named "Arch time" and possibly link to "When it's done".

Maybe Arch years? — Lahwaacz (talk) 12:33, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hah! I only knew about Cat years :o --Erus Iluvatar (talk) 12:58, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The concept of "wiki time" is common, but any terminology we come up with isn't. As such FAQ seems a better place to document this, if anywhere. -- Alad (talk) 17:47, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Using the words "half-gods" and "gods" is not gentle, I think

In section 8, there is a sentence like this:

"""Half-gods working to improve Arch for no financial gain. Developers are outranked only by our gods, Judd Vinet and Aaron Griffin, who in turn are outranked by tacos."""

There is no problem if someone doesn't believe the God (which is totally OK) but for believers this sentence is inconvenient. I propose a sentence like this (which keeps the same meaning):

"""Awesome people working to improve Arch for no financial gain. Developers are outranked only by our leaders, Judd Vinet and Aaron Griffin, who in turn are outranked by tacos."""

This sentence was added verbatim in 2006-04. I see no need to change it if only a single person has been bothered by it in nearly two decades. -1 from me.

I agree with Erus Iluvatar. It is obviously not something to be taken seriously. NetSysFire (talk) 17:04, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Same. Closing -- Alad (talk) 22:15, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
