Enabling CPPC

Has anyone managed to boot their device with CPPC enabled? I wanted to try running the amd_pstate driver for cpufreq since lscpu | grep cppc shows the CPU has support for it, but going in the (unlocked) UEFI to AMD SCB > SMU Debug > SMU Features > Enable CPPC leaves my unit stuck on the Deck logo at boot...

Edit: I forgot to mention that I had also enabled AMD CBS > CPU Common Options > Global C-state Control.

Looks like I'm not the only one having issues on this, a Bazzite blog post speaks of "issue with CPPC in the Steam deck's firmware" making them unable to use the amd_pstate driver.

Is it on an LCD or an OLED? Detection works on my side on an LCD model with the latest kernel and alsa-ucm-conf. Erus Iluvatar (talk) 10:06, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's OLED and it works now. Had to go to kernel neptune 6.1. 6.5 has a problem detecting headphone jack status DocMAX2 (talk) 22:46, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Excellent, closing :) (Although maybe test if playing with the configurations in https://gitlab.com/evlaV/valve-hardware-audio-processing/ helps?) --Erus Iluvatar (talk) 15:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
