Proposal: clarify display orientation situation on Wayland

I've setup Wayfire compositor on a Steam Deck LCD. Neither default display orientation, nor touchscreen 'orientation' were landscape, despite the Wiki clearly saying that the touchscreen will work 'without any tweaks'. The following tweaks were necessary:

1. transform 270 either in wayfire.ini or in kanshi configuration file (make orientation landscape)
2. [input-device:FTS3528:00 2808:1015] output = eDP-1 in wayfire.ini (map touchscreen to the transformed display)

Is it possible that only the desktop environment case on Wayland is described in the article currently? Wayfire provides no desktop environment. Iskander (talk) 14:12, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

The section was added with Special:Diff/795290 and seems to actually only have been tested on GNOME and GDM, if there is configuration needed that is not specific to this device, it should be covered on a generic page and linked to, IIRC it's in Tablet PC that we have centralized for now the details on screen rotation and mapping of touchscreens.
