Redirect to DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors?

This page has multiple warnings that creating a local mirror is most certainly a bad idea. It also duplicates quite some content from the official page (DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors), however this duplicate information is out of date and the mirror script itself is arguably inferior to the other one. Yet this page appears first in google results and caused at least one case of confusion even though it is filled with warnings.

I propose to remove the page and include the "Things to keep in mind:" paragraph in the official page. Bluewind (talk) 19:11, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

I've moved the "Things to keep in mind" section to DeveloperWiki:NewMirrors, however it needs adapting to make sense in the new context. E.g., "Really please look at the alternatives above" which refers to the Warning in Local mirror#STOP. -- Alad (talk) 19:34, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks, I've redirected the page. I don't have an immediate answer to the indexing question below, but that's something we can figure out later. -- Alad (talk) 11:04, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
I think the redirect would be fine, but if we do redirect can we add some local mirror metadata so when the page is indexed the terms "local archlinux mirror" would direct to there? Webdawg (talk) 19:18, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
I'm not experienced with MediaWiki, but if it's possible to add that, sure Bluewind (talk) 19:19, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
