Kernel-install is a program installed with systemd

It automatically generates runs a set of hooks in /usr/lib/kernel/install.d/ and /etc/kernel/install.d/. It also copies the kernel into esp/machine-id/kernel-ver.

A default hook generates an config for systemd-boot
