Concerning recent changes to SLiM
SLIM doesn't work? Weird, it works fine here. Just because IRC users are unable to configure correctly their display manager it doesn't mean that package is broken. LXDM hasn't been upgraded for much longer time than SLIM, requires tons of patches (trust me, I was maintainer for quite long time), has many weird and irritating bugs. What's more, I don't care about your default answer and what is set in phrik for !slim. I think it's fair to stop giving the birds to users and start helping it with problems related to their software of choice. LXDM is as problematic as SLIM and recommending git package (Hello broken commits!), which in fact doesn't provide systemd unit, is non-sense. --Barthalion (talk) 13:59, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
EFI Sync Removed?
Why did you remove all of the sections in UEFI Bootloaders about syncing the kernel to the ESP? As far as I know, this is still something of concern for anyone not booting using rEFInd. Is this no longer required, or is the information available elsewhere? In the latter case, the UEFI Bootloaders page should definitely reference it. Silverhammermba (talk) 23:02, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
I understand now. That's a cool trick, to mount the ESP directly to /boot (I don't remember seeing that there when I first set up UEFI). However, that does dump the Arch files in the root of the ESP. Isn't it good practice to keep different boot files in subdirectories, especially with multiple OSes on the same machine? Is there any way to mount just a subdirectory of the ESP to /boot? That seems like the ideal solution. Silverhammermba (talk) 02:17, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
