switch to systemd-bootchart

The "standalone" bootchart is now unmaintained since its merge to systemd-bootchart in 2012. Therefore I propose to update this page accordingly to only cover systemd-bootchart and bootchart2. Comments? Meibeexe (talk) 13:13, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

bootchart is still in the repos, so I doubt that it's completely useless. It's logical to keep documentation for official packages. -- Lahwaacz (talk) 17:44, 13 March 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As far as I can tell bootchart is fairly depricated, as the bootchart-render command doesn't appear to exist anymore, so it isn't possible to generate graphical output from it. CubeTheThird (talk) 20:20, 2 April 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Bootchart2

I propose to add the main features Bootchart2 gives, unless I'm wrong: → A clear Disk, I/O (and memory) usage vizualisation that I don't get with its systemd-bootchart cousin; → Easier comparison with distros shipping Bootchart, and with older startup-graphs (eg my netbook has Arch running since well before the shift to systemd;comparing has its interest); → Nothing to add to the kernel parameters, as the systemd services included do their job. --kozaki (talk) 20:01, 20 September 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]
