Talk:XDG user directories

The requirement for DESKTOP != DOWNLOAD is easy to test.

To back the revert on DESKTOP !=DOWNLOAD just point both to the same directory that is not Downloads, then e.g. download a file from Chrome and see it appearing in the freshly created default $HOME/Downloads folder.

BTW the text "It will also be necessary to create any new custom directories." is probably wrong, directories are created automagically, AFAICS. Mikhailian (talk) 16:59, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
