Edit summaries
Thank you for your your contributions to ArchWiki. Please make sure to include an edit summary with every edit, even minor ones, as this is helpful when browsing an article's history. I'd suggest you to go to Special:Preferences and check "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary".

- My apologies, I didn't know such a thing existed. I'll be sure to write one next time, and give that help page a read. Thanks for the heads up!
Plex
Hi, I wanted to apologize for acting up in Talk:Plex and not investigating properly until you mentioned journalctl dropping logs. Anyway, please check if setting SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL=debug
gives the desired results as in my draft User:Alad/Plex. Journalctl#Diagnosing_problems_with_a_specific_service is an important section and it would be good to know if it doesn't work as intended. Regards -- Alad (talk) 04:02, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- Still doesn't show errors about missing libraries... Not to mention your draft is wrong, SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL is an environment variable, not a unit parameter.-- Alucryd (talk) 11:41, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- By adding
SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL
toEnvironmentFile
, it is in fact used as environment variable (see man systemd.service). Anyway, thanks, I'll investigate. Added an accuracy template in the mean time. Do not accuse me of destroying your work
Your work is in the history. If you've submitted content without proper documentation and it's breaking installs without proper errors I will remove the content from this wiki as it violates KISS. Your work is in the changelog, you can always find the old revision and correct it. I was explanatory about the issues that were had. The change is made with little context, and produces non-useful errors. I'd rather this be a place where people construct, rather than accuse others of destroying their work that destroyed an hour of my free time. Discordian (talk) 20:17, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
- The steps you took are completely optional, and are only needed if you need write permissions, most people don't. Not understanding something is no reason at all to delete a contribution, next time you might want to ask for advice, clarification, or search a little before discarding something as invalid. This talk page is the perfect place for this.
- Anyway, I moved these steps to a separate section to insist on the fact that they are optional. And for the record, they do work.-- Alucryd (talk) 21:21, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
