Multi Head Setup
The multi-head setup is quite inadequate at Wacom tablet#TwinView setup Initially, it's written the user should not install any xorg.conf settings, then reading this section he needs to add an option at an unspecified place. Furthermore, the provided link to Ubuntu Forum is not working without an registered registered Ubuntu account, It's suggested to make a new section for multi head setups and add all necessary options in there. Adding some example example xorg.conf configs would improve readability overall. Especially at this section it's necessary to describe aspect ratio problems with dual and/or triple head setups. Graphics tablet more generally
Hi User:Larivact, User:Lahwaacz, User:Jose1711, as you are the most active contributor on this page, I would like to ask you about changes. The page is partially about tablets more generally than only Wacom ones. I would like to extend this page with more tools, and other tablet than wacom tablet. I use both wacom Intuos and volito, managed by Wacom driver, Huion tablet managed by Digimend kernel driver (as most non-Wacom tablets), and Galaxy Note 10.1 (using Samsung S pen, made by Samsung and Wacom), via GfxTablet Android driver and networktablet Linux user space driver. What do you thing about this ? I think it could be a better idea to have a section about the drivers in both cases (Wacom, Digimend, NetworkTablet), and other sections about more generic aspects of configuration, like button mappings, multiscreen (twin view is restrictive, for example I use a Huion with it's own screen, and I have two monitor only screens). What do you think about my proposition to rename the page Graphics tablet, and/or to add more general information about graphics tablets? Popolon (talk) 21:06, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it makes sense to rename the page, generalize and restructure the content and if the page gets too long, eventually split it into multiple pages (which can be discussed later). -- Lahwaacz (talk) 21:50, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Speaking of drivers: it should be noted that (some?) Wacom tablets work also with libinput (which depends on libwacom) so xf86-input-wacom is not needed. -- Lahwaacz (talk) 21:56, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Libinput is a more general library, that abstract hardware layers, resolved most of hardware management and is also used by other drivers. I just noticed that on my Huion tablet, the pen isn't seen (using xinput list) until it was firs moved near the screen. The same way, NetworkTablet driver only add the pen in xinput when the Android device is connected via it's own GfxTablet instance. I need to try again my old Wacom serial tablet (I have a digitzer one with 4 buttons mouse and a 20~30 years old serial one with pen, a Mac User left him to me for 5 €, because it can't be used anymore on Mac, but it still works perfectly on Linux using a serial-USB adapter) Popolon (talk) 23:15, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, I started writing a draft article that has more general information about all graphics tablets: User:Aurantius/Graphics_tablet. For now I've only rewrote the Wacom tablet#Installation section, since that's the one that focuses too much on only Wacom tablets. Please let me know what you think. I think it could be interesting to to add this link, but I am not sure, and where to add it : https://github.com/linuxwacom/xf86-input-wacom/wiki/External-Applications#graphical-configuration-tools Popolon (talk) 21:50, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Wayland
This article, especially the content regarding xf86-input-wacom and anything in xsetwacom assumes an X display is active. That assumption is becoming increasingly less-true. Perhaps adding a disclaimer about how these instructions do not apply to Wayland would be wise? I'm new to Wacom -- I'm not sure what Wayland alternatives exist. - See my note about drivers in the previous discussion. -- Lahwaacz (talk) 06:56, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
Addition of illustrations for buttons
Adding illustrations of the button layout of, example the remote control, can help people when assigning actions to buttons. I have created an illustration with what the buttons are for the remote control, so I could remember what buttons were located where. https://imgur.com/a/GxSay0l I was curious if editing this illustration into the article would be acceptable? There is no copyright on the image, as I have created it myself in Blender https://imgur.com/a/kqNfT19 —This unsigned comment is by Squirrel Modeller (talk) 11:55, 24 November 2021 (UTC). - See Help:Style#Non-pertinent content, in particular:
- Uploading files is disabled for normal users, and including images in articles is not allowed. As an alternative you can include links to external images or galleries …
- From this, it seems that there wouldn't be problems with using the Imgur link in the article.

Tablet configuration in Hyprland
I spent several hours trying to configure my tablet with libinput through udev rules, but found out that Hyprland can manage tablets by itself through simple config https://wiki.hyprland.org/Configuring/Keywords/#per-device-input-configs . I think that it should be mentioned that in Hyprland there is a way to configure graphics tablets without udev and libinput. Zenn (talk) 00:22, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- I have added a link to Hyprland's documentation about tablets, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Graphics_tablet&diff=prev&oldid=809927. Aurantius (talk) 11:43, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
